We officially have a toddler in the house. I know, crazy. I can hardly believe Kiara is 1, where did the time go? A couple of fun things about our little "bubba cheese":
- At her well-check she measured in at 29.5 inches tall (60th percentile), 20 lbs (25th percentile) and 46cm (70th percentile)
- She loves food! Now that she has all of 5 teeth (with number 6 threatening to poke through soon) she thinks she can take on the culinary world. Some of her favorites of the moment are black beans, broccoli, bananas, strawberries and pb&j.
- She definitely has some sass to her. She's started the phase where she understands "no" but will turn and look at you then proceed to do whatever you've told her not to do with a very mischievous smile.
- She is a pro at the stairs (going up at least). She can scale the entire staircase in about 2 minutes and it is one of her favorite things to do when no one is looking. Luckily attempting to go back down has not crossed her mind yet.
- She uses standing as a scouting method, or when she wants to dance. Once she finds what she's looking for she gets down and crawls wherever. She has taken a couple of steps here and there but is still working on the idea of walking as a mode of transportation.
- She gives kisses when asked, or if you're out of her reach she'll blow one to you. I love it!
- She is starting to put sounds together. Dada's a favorite word but she's also working on hi, sisa (for sister), mama, mmmm (for more food), and a couple others I can't think of right now. Plus, she constantly babbles, laughs and has conversations with anyone who will humor her.
- She has an infectious smile. I love her wide little smile and think her crooked top teeth are adorable. You can't help but smile when she gives you one of her little looks.
- She is an explorer. She has a way of finding every nook, cupboard and corner you don't want her to. She loves finding and figuring out new things, especially at church.
- She is a very consistent sleeper and loves going to bed. Surprisingly she's transitioned away from a bedtime bottle just fine. She loves going down when she's still awake and typically is up for a little bit talking to herself before she decides she wants to get out of bed in the morning.
- She loves her big sister. Every day when she wakes up from her afternoon nap she has to check in on Tienna (who is either having quiet time or sleeping herself). I literally cannot take her downstairs without poking our heads in the girl's room.
- She is getting to be more of a daddy's girl. Daddy gets some of the best smiles. When Josh gets home from work Kiara follows him around right on his heels until he picks her up.
- She can still be a mommy's girl, especially when she's tired. I love how cuddly she is.
- She loves being outside. Whether it's going for walks, hanging out at the park or playing on the patio she's always calm when she's outside.
All in all Kiara is wonderful, it's hard to believe that a little over a year ago she was not a part of our family, I sincerely cannot imagine life without her. She's almost always happy and lights up my day every time she smiles at me.
Happy Birthday my little One Year Old!
